Editorial methodology
How we evaluate a potential find.
Our method is designed to separate checkable product information from promotional language—and to make the limits of our research obvious.
Our five-point listing check
- Dimensions: We look for exact measurements and images that establish real-world scale.
- Materials and contents: We check what an item is made from and what the package actually includes.
- Detailed feedback: Where available, we look for recent, specific comments and recurring complaints rather than relying on a headline score.
- Total value: We assess the current total price, not merely the largest advertised discount.
- Delivery and returns: We remind readers to confirm the current estimate and return terms for their order and location.
How coverage is labeled
Editorial or listing-based research means the commentary is based on information available on a listing and other public purchasing signals. It is not presented as firsthand experience.
Hands-on tested is used only when an item was actually obtained and used. Any future hands-on review will explain what was tested, for how long, and under what conditions.
Commercial relationships
Affiliate eligibility does not determine whether we describe an item or marketplace positively. Paid links are labeled close to the call to action, and our complete disclosure is available on the affiliate disclosure page.
Updates and corrections
We publish an update date on the main guide. Because prices, listings, policies, and promotions can change, visitors should verify the current information at checkout. Substantive corrections are made when reliable new information becomes available.
